Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the cliff-echo website and services, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or services.

Description of Services

cliff-echo provides guided hiking experiences, wilderness retreats, and related outdoor programmes. Our services involve physical activity in natural environments and are subject to weather conditions, terrain challenges, and inherent outdoor risks.

Booking and Payment

Reservations

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation. A booking is not confirmed until you receive written confirmation from us.

Deposits and Payment

A deposit of 50% is required to secure your booking
Full payment is due 14 days before the scheduled experience
Corporate programmes may have customized payment terms

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations more than 30 days before: Full refund minus processing fees
Cancellations 15-30 days before: 50% refund
Cancellations within 14 days: No refund
Weather-related cancellations by cliff-echo: Full refund or rescheduling option

Participant Requirements

Health and Fitness

Participants must:

Accurately disclose any medical conditions that may affect participation
Meet the minimum fitness requirements for their chosen experience
Inform us of any medications that may affect their ability to participate safely
Consult with healthcare providers if uncertain about their suitability

Age Requirements

Participants must be 18 years or older. Exceptions may be made for corporate family programmes with parental consent and supervision.

Waivers

All participants must sign liability waivers before participating in any experience. These waivers will be provided upon booking confirmation.

Assumption of Risk

Wilderness activities involve inherent risks including but not limited to:

Adverse weather conditions
Uneven or challenging terrain
Wildlife encounters
Physical exhaustion
Altitude-related effects
Equipment failure

By participating in our experiences, you acknowledge these risks and accept responsibility for your decision to participate.

Guide Authority

Our guides have full authority over all aspects of the experience including:

Route selection and modification
Pace and schedule adjustments
Safety decisions
Participant removal if safety is at risk

Participants must follow guide instructions at all times.

Website Use

Intellectual Property

All content on this website including text, images, and design is owned by cliff-echo or used with permission. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without written permission.

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

Use our website for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
Transmit harmful code or interfere with website functionality
Collect information about other users without consent

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, cliff-echo shall not be liable for:

Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Loss of profits or anticipated savings
Damages arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific experience giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless cliff-echo, its employees, guides, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or your participation in our experiences.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Alberta.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full effect.
